La Pared presents a new body of work by Faye Lorente Shyllon, bringing together paintings, drawings and textured mixed media pieces.
The exhibition explores walls, domestic grilles, windows, repeated motifs and the visual language of Faye’s Andalusian experience. Across the work, she draws on Spanish architecture, whitewashed surfaces, black window spaces, mangoes, banana leaves, flamenco dress details and the recurring idea of the void.
The exhibition includes work from several connected series, including Parrillas domésticas, En La Calle, Las chorreras, Música de mi casa, La Pared and Mango y plátano. Together, these works create a quiet but richly layered body of work shaped by memory, rhythm, structure and place.
About the Exhibition
The title La Pared, meaning “the wall”, reflects Faye’s interest in textured surfaces, Spanish architecture and the geometry of built spaces.
Walls, windows and domestic grilles appear throughout the work, alongside organic references such as mangoes and banana leaves. These elements are brought together through painting, drawing, charcoal, graphite, marker pen, stencils and textured materials, creating works that feel both structured and instinctive.
